William F. Seaman

Arthur W. Merritt

William (Bill) F. Seaman was born in Red Bank, New Jersey In April of 1968. He, his younger brother and their mother lived there until they eventually relocated to the New Port Richey area of Florida in 1982, where his grandparents lived. After finishing High School, he studied at ITT Technical Institute, where he graduated with an Associate Degree in Computer Drafting Technology.

With his Associate Degree in hand, he then became employed as a Draftsman at Casson Engineering Company in 1990, a well-respected Engineering firm in New Port Richey, Florida. Bill worked there until he became employed by Heidt & Associates, Inc., just outside the downtown area of Tampa, Florida, in March of 1996.

There he worked under Arthur W. Merritt and along with Vicky Robinson in the Subdivision Layout and Platting Department, developing his craft of “Drafting” (a dying art) and becoming an Artist at his Craft. Together they became the core of the department that would prepare and record hundreds and hundreds of quality Subdivision Plats that were the vast majority of the recorded plats in the Tampa Bay and surrounding area in Florida. Bill would be a big part of that core for thirteen years until the unfortunate closing of Heidt & Associates, Inc. in 2009.

After AMERRITT, INC. got established in late 2009, it took a while for the work load in the Land Development Industry to rise to a point where people were being hired back to work. It was time to “Get the Band Back Together.” So, Bill became a natural choice and was enticed to join the people that he left, Art & Vicky, now at AMERRITT, INC. in April of 2013.

Bill has such a good eye at making drawings clear and easy to read. His routine at his craft provides for a thorough and consistent product, over and over again. His ability to author such well written Legal Descriptions and check the geometry of those Legal Descriptions along with the Plats and Drawings that he prepares, provides for correct and a complete product every time.

When not at work, Bill has a profound love for the outdoors. He truly loves sports, but his biggest love is for the sport of Disc Golf, which he has become quite a master, reaching “Professional Disc Golf Player” status and having won many tournaments.

In his spare time, he and his wife Amanda love hiking, the beaches, backyard games and kayaking down the hidden waters of Florida. He’s also a pretty great cook!
